Whoever said it, is 100% correct, there are no silverface "reissues", these are VM series.

They're tweaked versions of the existing blackface re-issue platforms.

......And apparent QC/QA issues at the factory.

I do hope they get things straightened out.

Arjay, you know where these "68's" are being manufactured and assembled?

Thanks!

I've heard anecdotally that they're made in Ensenada and the "227" P/N prefix would seem to confirm that.

so its just a half assed attempt by Fender I guess....too bad.
At the very least I am happy for the cosmetics. At least the edge and the silver faces are now being manufactured....

Hey, could make it easy to re-cab an old SF amp!

There are cheaper ways to accomplish a facelift than buying and cannibalizing a brand-new amp......

Fender re-issued the silverface amps so people would buy one and then blackface it to get better tone.

There still are no silver face reissues, so Fender has not "re-issued the silverface amps". These amps are the Vintage Modified series, and no where near a reissue. Fender does not call them reissue either, have you not been paying attention?
