I just got this Fender SR-2050-X guitar amp along with a Fostex AP2130. The Fostex cleaned up nice and now works perfectly, all 1300 watts RMS ;-) The Fender however is not working, although cosmetically it's almost perfect and has been stored for the last 25 years.

My question would be, does anyone have a schematic for the SR-2050-X Solid State Pro Reverb Amplifier or a repair manual? If one doesn't exist (and there's not very much info on the web) I guess I'll just have to get out the scopes and the dvm's and work semi-blind to do the repairs. It's nice to have a schematic though.

I am waiting for Fender to get back to me but there is absolutely nothing on this site about the SR-2050-X in the forums or in the Fender Library, which is a bit odd.

Cheers - Dave

Pics of the amp would help, but I think your talking about the disastrous metal knob solid state amps from 68-69 I think and they were such bad amps that I don't know if Fender ever released those schematics. I have a book called "Dave Funks Tube Amp Book" that has every Fender Schematic you could name, but none of this series of amps appears in that book at all. I Googled for just about an hour and found Nothing, but a few pics!

Good luck, maybe somebody else will come along and have one but I wouldn't hold your breath that's for sure.

If anybody can provide support it's Bob Rissi -- he designed them.

You might try contacting him through his website......

Well, this amp sounds great and everything works. Fender sent me the circuit diagrams, I checked them and the design looks very stable, I am an electronics engineer. I have some pics up on my ad on kijiji at

http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell ... Z536424935

I checked the transformer and it turns out this is probably a 1968 amplifier as the transformer is 606704 (Jan, 4th week, 1967) and the transformer is a special switchable 110 to 240vac so it was probably inventory stock, but it might be a 1967. I am still waiting on Fender to give me a build date based on the 1182 serial number. Thanks for your help, both of you and I have an email in for Bob Rissi to see if he can tell me anything else about this amp that I might need to know.

Cheers - Dave

An export model with switchable primary input voltage would be quite rare indeed -- FMI must have been anticipating a global stampede for these then-new "wünder amps".

Ironic that history didn't play along with the gag.
