Early 1968 production (January), with iron from '67. Definitely the AB763 configuration, with the beloved Blue Molded tone caps in place. You've got a nice one!

Sweeeeeeeet!!! Pretty stoked for scoring this for $50. Can't wait to get it to the shop tomorrow and have the tech go through it and see what it needs besodes a 3-prong cord and a recap.

Once you get it up and reliably running you can concentrate on a cosmetic restoration.

Thats pretty much the plan. I scrubbed the tolex on the head and cab last night and the head came out looking decent. The cabinet is pretty worked, but I think I'l still leave it. As you mentioned, once it's up and running and back from the tech, I'll get the cosmetics in order, like getting some period-dpecific grill cloth and ditching the casters, adding the tilt-back legs, correct cabinet screws, etc. Not doing a total 'restore' per se, more like getting it back to period spec, like buying an old classic car, getting her tuned up under the hood, but leaving the old patina and old paint job on the outside and just clear coating over it!

Nice score for $50. I recently acquired a '65 Band Master in similar condition. The thread is back in June.

If it doesn't have a power tube in the circuit...I'm not that interested

Hope this link works.

If not use the search for "pawnshop purchase" in this Forum. The Guys were very helpful. I laid out plenty of $ to get it up to snuff...but it was worth it. She's still a bit noisy, but I haven't changed all the tubes yet, and I didn't touch any of the circuit other than fixing the vibrato tick tick (for the most part).

Thanks for the link. Enjoyed the thread!

I'm hoping mine wont need much done to it internally, but am prepared to spend a little if it needs work, since it was only $50.
