While Im at it. The amp was missing the footswitch, not a disaster, but is it possible to get replacement for those somewhere? Doesnt have to be vintage by any means. But maybe the new ones for reissues doesnt work?

Repro's are readily available on Ebay and elsewhere. Be sure to specify the type fitted with dual RCA phono-pin plugs. Those intended for the modern re-issue's use a single stereo ¼-inch plug.

Excellent, Kenti!!! I played that very amp for years in a Blues band. Mine came as a chassis, from the closet of some keyboard player. Housed it in a blond tolex cab/ox-blood grill / brown faceplate/ ivory knobs. Totally rehabbed the amp's chassis. It served me quite well for years of hard knocks. I called her the "Queen of Fullerton". You can also try:www.tubesandmore.com, for parts. Keep Pickin', Art

I love it!

8)

I've owned a half dozen Twin Reverb's over my 45+ years experience with Fender gear. They never disappointed, not once.

Ah so nice, and funny coincidence too. Mine also came from a keyboard player. They do go well with the rhodes so its nice we can liberate a couple from the piano players and make em scream again :) Cant wait to try it in the band and do some recordings!

The Rhodes 88 goes quite well with a Twin Reverb and actually doesn't do badly with a Vox Jaguar or Continental.

We need to liberate more amps from the cheeky pianists! Think its appropriate with a ad hoc movement actually!

Now im gonna be cheeky and ask a couple more questions :)

Been playing the amp now for a couple of days and have come to couple of conclusions:

- Sound is just amazing, especially with my telecaster, seems they were just made for eachother. Have a stupid expensive Hiwatt amp, and the clean sound in the twin is just better for some reason. probably subjective ofcourse, but daaaamn its nice :)

- There is quite a lot of white noise. Is there anything short of buying new tubes and or getting it to a tech i can try first? noise is constant no matter what volume, both channels. Noise is also present when no instrument is plugged in.

- The volume output is not the best. I was sitting in the room playing and could have it on 6-7. It was loud then, but not the loudness i would expect. Any remedy for this without getting too technical fast?

Your amp requires the services of a skilled tech familiar with vintage Fender architecture. I can only speculate as to what it needs but safe to say, you should budget two to three hundred dollars at a minimum to bring the amp up to stock Fender specs.

Thanks again Arjay! Started switching some tubes around and the white noise almost disappeared, so could be bad tubes somewhere. But yeah, investing some money in a good service is a easy decision. But still amazed over the complexity and range of the sound. Has something my deluxe can't deliver, so they compliment eachother well!

I was at a www.fenderguru.com guy when i bought my SF deluxe reverb, and was amazed with hes collection.
But you Arjay have one insane collection!!! And they all look so clean and new, amazing!! I bet they all compliment eachother :p

How do you choose which amp gets the love of the day? i would run in circles trying to figure out where i would most want to plug in!!!
