Not bright enough prolly does not mean mis-proper biasing. So it that respect, you are good to go. The output tube bias is fine.

As you said, the broken midrange pot maybe the brightness problem. A separate issue.

Subway, were you able to figure out how to get reliable bias readings? Bias pot won't really help until you can get accurate values.

ok, i got the bias scout hooked up and tested, my previous readings were ok with the 10 ohm, but atleast now i'm sure whats right and whats not, i got them biased to around 30-32ma.

good stuff, this amp is officially done.

i also tried out the old tubes that it had, 3 RCAs and one which i cant tell what, and they worked and sounded fine, those tubes are sure durable.

all i need now is a replacement faceplate and it will look and sound as good as new !

thanks !!

Good luck with that. I saw one on Ebay about two years ago -- it was beat to crap and the asking price was seventy-five bucks.

You might try Tube Amp Doctor......they have a limited number of silverface front panels for various models.

Yeah there's one seller on ebay, he's got the same ones as TAD i assume, new reproduction pieces for about 75 $, TAD going for about 60 euros or so. im still thinking if i should change it or not, maybe i should keep it for a vintage look :)

these are the like worst two spots on the faceplate, the rest still has the corrosion thing on but its acceptable.

I'm fortunate that my Bassman 135 is in relatively pristine shape......

The machine-turned silver-finished faceplates definitely did not wear as well as the enameled blackface panels.

There are convection vents on both side panels. As well, the valence panel also features ports to allow air to pass through.
