Dream amp?,...a pre-CBS black face Deluxe Reverb would be my choice! I'm only familiar with the vintage reissue DR amp since I have AT LEAST tried one in the store! Never have played through an original DR black face amp.

You'll never go wrong with a good vintage DR. In my experience, the original DR are a bit Bluesier. The DRRI are a bit louder (at same settings). Maybe, because the DRRi I've used were newer than the vintage DR's?

I'm also looking for a good vintage DR. Boy, they are $$$. I've gotten a VLR and Tremolux in the last two years --- which total cost = going rate for one BF DR. Both are great amps. So, my search is on the back burner (as of now, at least).

Good luck with your search. :D

My dream amp is a $75 modeling amp that actually does what the marketing folks claim! That really is a dream.

You ain't kiddin' there!

Most folks who believe in stuff like that also think that an enchanted unicorn is gonna bring them the deed to the Brooklyn Bridge, TV wrestling is real, and The Olive Garden serves authentic Italian cuisine.

I would love to find an old Legend 50 watt combo for a decent price.

I haven't seen one in years--they are hybrids, and give a great tone--with great cleans and great tube distortion, and they take pedals well too.
