I pulled this old Fender Bassman head out of the rafters the other day. It looks like one of those solid state amps from the front but indeed it is all tube. I can't seem to figure out what era it is from. Check out the picture in the link. I also found an oddball. A Japanese Fender Performer from the 1980s in mint condition. Would be a strange guitar to play thru this amp!

That "Bassman" looks to be a "serviceman's special" manufactured by a company in the Philippines called Gabby. They were commonly built during the Vietnam War and gained some popularity for a time. They bear no resemblance whatsoever to anything that Leo Fender ever designed.

I would have guessed Solid State from late 60's early 70's, but only a guess. Think we've discussed similar ones, that are fake fenders from overseas. Never saw one like that. There are others here way more qualified than i to help you, but an interesting head indeed.
As I typed someone way more qualified got to ya first!

I'll check the back of the amp for a serial number. I should have done that in the first place.

Aha.. I found one on eBay! Check the link. He wants big bucks for it though.

Hey! Those are original Korean made "Realistic" labeled 6L6GC! They are worth at least few bucks.

I have a matched quartet of those Realistic "Lifetime Guarantee" 6L6GC's for you that I pulled from a Showman head some time back.

All of them check better than "20" on my AN/TV-7A/U.
