To use a quote from a Cream song...."Take it Back, Take it Back, Take that thing right out of here!"

Seriously, take it back and get them to replace the tubes and rebias it. Tubes should not go that fast.

JR, you might want to try something before returning the amp. Put the amp in a room, that you can turn all the lights off. Switch the amp "ON", turn the lights out . Look for an orange glow in the tubes. Switch the standby toggle to"Play" position. Watch for a change in the tubes appearance. Art

Tubes are warranteed for 90 days from the date of purchase. This is stated in the warranty documentation that came with your amp.

Replacing the tubes with ones from a different manufacturer (I use JJs from Eurotubes all the time) will not void your warranty unless you install the wrong type tube or fail to properly bias the correct tubes and the amp is damaged.

Your call to take the amp back if it is in the tube warranty period.

Bassman amp use only 2 X 6L6 . If one is not working , sound won't be "good"

Thanks fellows for all the feedback! is good to have the fender community on my side, I call my salesman at the local dealer and they have a shop for warranty repair so I'll be without amp fos a week or less, then when the 90 days period pass I try the euro tubes !!!

It's not unusual for an amp that has blown an output tube to still make music. Even an amp with only two power tubes. This forces the amp into a single-ended topology. It ain't gonna sound as good as purposedly designed single-ended 6L6GC. As the idle parameters are all wrong.

My guess is you got an amp with a DOA tube. Just be sure it isn't a socket wiring issue.

Good luck!
