Jerry...any more progress on the Super? I am on my "Furlough Friday" and plan to do some jamming on my BFSR and thought I would check and see how yours was coming along. Have a good Friday.

T2,

Yes, I got the new grill cloth installed. I'm glad I have an electric staple gun, sure made it a lot easier. Here is a test fit. I still have to get the drip edge installed and the speakers and it will be a done deal. More photos to come.

Wow! Thanks Very Much Arjay!! I owe much of it to your generous and tireless help. :D

I figured I'd only get a 5-level.

Still got to get the drip edge back on, it is not in the greatest condition. When my finances recover a bit, I'll spring for new drip edge and do the miter joining at the corners.

I'll do more photos when I finish.

Thanks Arjay! You sent me that link already, but never hurts to have two. :)

I post again merely for the benefit of those here who might want to try their hand at restoring a drip-edge silverface Fender.

Jerry...very nice job and certainly a 7-Level job of keeping the grill cloth straight! You sure have done a fine job getting this amp back to spec!

And thanks to Arjay for the drip edge link, that is 9-level research!

I know where all the bodies are buried.

And what I can't find, I make myself. Like repro tube charts and cardboard/plywood pallets to properly install a reverb tank in vintage fashion.

Arjay, that would be cool. You know where to get the strap that holds down the reverb tank?

Thanks!

Arjay, I guess. I've seen the same arrangement on other Fender amps. Maybe a post-manufacturer mod?

Thanks!

On every vintage Fender amp I've seen (and I've owned most of them at one time or another), the tank goes into the bag and the bag itself is secured to the bottom of the cab at either end with a screw and washer. The only exception is the PR, which is so narrow that it's not possible to anchor the bag with screws. In that instance, a single rubber strap is used -- oriented perpendicular to and across the center of the bag. The strap is embossed with a Fender logo.

Arjay, that's the one. I've seen TR and DR with the strap, at one time or another. Prolly a post-manufacturing mod. You know a source of these straps?

Thanks!

Steve Melkisethian of Angela Instruments had some a while back but I got the impression that his stock was extremely limited. You might shoot him an e-mail and see if he has any left.
