A full set of replacement parts (some vintage, some repro) are now on their way......I expect that by the end of the week the amp will have assumed a completely restored cosmetic persona.

Thanks Arjay. The parts arrived Wednesday (17th) and I installed them right away. Amp is starting to look like a real Super Reverb now.

Unfortunately, my new grill cloth won't arrive until the July 23rd. I ordered it on the 13th, but they didn't ship it until the 17th.

Speaker Wire:

They sell a speaker re-wire kit for the Super Reverb on e-bay for almost $40.00.

I think that is just a tad high for what you get. Anybody know what guage the speaker wire is ?

I pretty sure I can make one of those a lot cheaper than the price they want.

Jerry, yup... looks like someone put the output section back to AB763. It that an OEM SFSR front panel? Those are real hard to find.

Are you going put drip edge to the front? This really makes the amp stand out. IMHO.

Steve,

It is good that someone put the output section back to AB763.

Yes, that is a brand new OEM SFSR front panel and it cost like hell too. But, it is worth it, it looks real nice. Pardon the bad photos.

Yes, the amp came with the drip edge and I plan to put it back on when I do the grill cloth. Hope I can get is a bit more level on top. Of course, it doesn't have the corners and from what little I know, those corners are non-existent.

Image

Down the road a bit, I will put new drip edge on the amp and miter join the corners.

Side shot shows the addition of the tilt back legs and the new corners. Also have a new handle installed and new chassis straps coming.

Wow, that is really coming along! Thanks for sharing the refurb with us! I can't wait to see it once the grill cloth gets put on. Now that will be something you need patience for!

T2,

Yes, I know about the patience going in for replacing the grill cloth. I've done it before on my Showman and two cabinets that I built, but that was many years ago. :D

Arjay has already sent some good advise on the procedure complete with photos. It will definitely come in handy.

Will post photos of the update.

Hey Jerry. I too thought the wire harness replacement on Ebay was a bit too much for what you got. I ended up just making one that works just as well, and looks not too bad IMHO!

Arnold,

Yes, you're right. That's exactly what I plan to do. Yours look just fine to me. :D

Jerry...any more progress on the Super? I am on my "Furlough Friday" and plan to do some jamming on my BFSR and thought I would check and see how yours was coming along. Have a good Friday.
