I believe they are, sir.

I have a quartet of those in my 1980 silverface Bassman 135 (same output stage as your UL Twin Reverb) and they sound and work quite well.

Sorry for the repeated questioning but
could you tell me what the original speakers
would have actually been? What wattage I mean?
I know they were 8 ohms and realise that the
1 was indeed slightly obscured in the
137 7915 005379 ...

Thanks for all your help!

Don't know the exact spec but I'd guess they were each in the 80- to 100-watt range.

This is going to be a very embarassing question to ask but I must
to put my mind at rest ...

The amp has a voltage selector on the back that goes up to 260

I am assuming that as I am in the UK I should be selecting 240v?

thanks!

AFAIK your mains are 240V, 50Hz.

You might consult a local electrician first to confirm.

Apparently we are "230V with a tolerance of +10% to -6%. This means that supply voltage can theoretically be anywhere between 216.2V and 253V depending on local conditions."

Does that mean I go for 220v or 240v??

Ring up a local music store and see what they set their multi-voltage amps at.

At this point I'm curious myself.

Let me know what you learn.

I've spoken to a few people this morning and
240v seems to be the unanimous answer ...

DrDanny, really as long as that PT is a healthy 50HZ rated tranny -- you'd prolly be ok at both settings. You may not get as much PIV on the secondary side if your outlet runs well below 240VAC. But, a healthy tranny will compensate by drawing a tad more current. No sweat.

And the trannies that Fender uses which have outlet voltage options have been fairly heavy duty in my experience.

You may want to check the actual outlet voltage, which the amp will most likely be plugged into. Just a thought...

Good luck!
