C'est magnifique!

After replacing any old filter caps. Checking bias power supply. Rectifier and output tubes (should go for matched 6L6GC--- this era amp has balance pot in bias curcuit, not bias pot.

http://www.webphix.com/schematic%20heav ... _schem.pdf

You'll get an amp that has a tone a bit beefier in the low-mids to lows. With the good sparkling top end. A tone between the Deluxe Reverb and the Super Reverb. Which ain't too of a bad place to be.

+1000!

It ain't the cost of all them "ladies" so much as it is paying off all the 'electro-crats'......amp techs, tube purveyors, speaker re-coners, etc.

Ain't that the truth! But the results are so satisfying, nothing you'd get out of the new crap coming out these days... 8)

Indeed.

The only new-production amps that meet could satisfy my stringent criteria for tone, reliability, and durability would be something from a boutique builder like Allen, Victoria, etc.

Back in your younger days, was there such a thing as "boutique builder"? :)
