It looks like the chassis of my '64 Pro Amp.

Except mine isn't mottled and stained with rat turds.

And my Pro still has its original-and-correct grill cloth.

I bought it for $350-not complaining. I just got a kitten, so no more rat turds.

Krankster, not sure if you already posted whether you got the tremolo/vibrato speed back to normal. The photo looks like the proper 3 ceramic disc are in the phase-shift part of the Vibrato circuit. Rarely do original ceramic disc caps go bad.

The opto-bug "looks" like it maybe an aftermarket one. Could be defective.

I bought some NOS preamp tubes. That did the trick. It's worth spending a little extra for the NOS tubes. They sound and perform great and last forever. I wish I could find some NOS power tubes that don't cost as much as the amp. I have some 60's GE and RCA 12ax7 and 12at7's that came in old amps I've bought. I've been using many of them for 10 to 15 years and they still sound great.

Arjay. I believe the grill cloth is original. It's as beat up as the rest of the amp and I saw no sign that the baffle was ever removed.

Got an in-focus close-up of the weave?

Hope this is good enough. The black area is my shadow. I finally got a red pick. I'm so happy.

I forgot to mention I cleaned the 9-pin sockets with DeOxit. Just sprayed a little on the tube pins, wiped off any excess and work it into the tube socket a couple times. It makes a huge difference especially using NOS tubes in old amps. I got a kitten a few months ago, so no more rat turds in my amps. It's names is Arjay (RJ). I kid you not. No relation to Arjay, but that should get me another red pick.

I got a couple of the little maggots myself, both males which are brothers.
