I have been looking at the:

Eminence Swamp Thang
Eminence Legend 1218
Eminence Legend 1258
Eminence The Wizard

Does anyone have any experience with these?
Do anyone have any greater recommendations? (150$ budget)

Should i just save up to a EV12L and be done with it?

All help is appreciated!

I've used the Eminence Swamp Thang in the past with passable results. In a bass-reflex enclosure they seem to lack the top-end "sparkle" for which blackface and silverface Fender's are known for. I'm sure they'll perform differently in an open-back combo though.

Alright!

The speaker is for a open back Fender combo, that REALLY enjoys the ice-pick.

I just noticed the Jensen C12K.. Would that work good or would the Swamp do better?

Im looking for something with a lot of clean headroom and a pleasant sound when its dimed. (the amp).

Thank you!

I'll make no recommendation for any new imported Jensen for any purpose. If you're seeking a more vintage tone, go for one of the Weber 12F150 variants.

I'll vouch for the Webers - I put a pair of 12F150's in my bandmaster cabinet back in February. A 12F150 and a 12F150B to be exact. I don't know if I'd put anything else in an amp. They are warm, clear, and they'll shake the room nicely. More over, their customer support is top notch.
Good luck.

I have the CS in an open backed combo cab with the 40 watt Bandmaster and it sounds great. replaced a set of ceramic Weber Californias with aluminum dust caps. Warm and sound great.

I have the C in a closed back small Fender 2x12 cab from the 60's for my Showman. A little punchier and slightly brighter, but still warm and Fendery.

Believe it or not some crazy person made an offer on my Deluxe Reverb and well, He is coming to get it tomorrow.

So not necessary (the other speaker)

So back to my 67 Bassman and my Clark Piedmont (59 Bassman clone)
I'm a double Bassman player again and I like it ! 8)

I'd opine that the "crazy person" is the one selling the Deluxe Reverb.

Why the hell would you let such a vintage prize slip away?

blues bondsman, think about the money you'll save in interest payments, I'd do it if I could.
