That took care of 95% of the noise, the longer i played today the more I noticed another noise that was playing into the problem.
Not in the circuit this time, The 46 year old speaker is developing a very slight buzz at the end of bass notes.
I'm guessing I've pushed that Oxford harder than it has been in many years !

It needs to be boxed up and replaced before it dies.

Well no vintage C12N but I got a "used" (maybe for ten minutes) Swamp Thang and stuck it in the 67 DR.
I didn't want to damage the original so.......

The Eminence speaker sounds HUGE !!! in that 22 watt amp As would be expected the bottom is tight and the top end a bit subdued.
I'm positive the speaker needs a ton of break in, I used a S/T and a Tonker in my 2x12 for the Bandmaster & Bassman that had a lot more going for it in the highs.
Could have been the Tonker I guess ?

The warehouse Guitar speakers G12C & G112CS are also very promising possibilities.
The CS or smooth cone version is on backorder till June 10th

Chris,

I know it maybe a bit too late, but saw this interesting Jensen P12P on EBay. I have fitted a few into Fender combos. Pretty nice. FWIW.

+1

The P12P (and C12P) are good for thirty watts, which makes them an excellent candidate for a Deluxe Reverb replacement. If caution is exercised they may also be used in pairs and installed in a Pro Reverb or Bandmaster.

The Swamp Thang was cheap and a fast replacement to keep the original playable for someone in the future, should they care about originality.

The amp has some big sound now !!!!!
I'm hoping for a period correct C12N Then I'll sell the oxford on e-bay
Just kidding !

The Tele with the neck bucker kicked out some nice stuff tonight, the wife even looked down the hall with "that Look" Must have hit some sweet notes.

I was just jamm'n with Tab Benoit's greatest hits, best of what ever.
I like a sizzling tele and some Bayou Blues !!!

I will play out this year, I WILL !!!! just no bands please I don't need all that drama right now ! 8)

It's hard to get a vintage Deluxe Reverb to sound "bad".

I mean, you'd really have to work at it.

So True Arjay !!!

I actually like the sound of the original better, however I also know the Swamp Thang needs a decent break in to even out the tone.

I kinda wish i had gone with the WGS G12C for another 30 over what I spent on the S/T
It gets pretty good reviews across the board.

Sorry to hear that  At least you got a consolation prize in the 69 Princeton 8) and that Jensen C10Q should produce some magic!
