Hello everyone, I am new to the forum so I will start by Introducing myself.

I am Building a !950 Tweed Deluxe. I am doing the 5a3 circuit in a tv front cab. I have the board built and I am waiting for the rest of my stuff to arrive.

I have questions about the cab and I wondered if someone could help. I have the outer dimensions from ampwares. I am not sure of the size of the tv cut out. I am also unsure how the front panel attaches. I have seen pictures of them removed but cant see the method of fastening it. I know the baffle attached to it via the 4 mounting screws in the front, but not how the panel itself attaches.

This is a tweed pro but same construction I would think, only larger.:

The tweed also looks as if it was applied to each piece before assembly. That can't be right since the cab should be finger jointed. I have never messed with tweed before, only tolex. Is it just cut like that? It seems I may be seeing lap joints? that seems probable.

like this one:

Thanks in advance for any help.

You have to glue all the joints, then apply tweed. Only the removable parts can be covered separately. With tweed, be careful of the pattern.

Thanks for the reply. That is a good write up. I have searched but not found it before. The tv front cab seems to have lap joints like the later tolexed cabs had. I am pretty sure I know how I need to go about this now.
