Sorry, not Arjay... but how much do you want to spend on the 12AX7s? For new ones --- I'd go with SELECTED (for strength & low-noise) TungSol or Mullard re-issued 12AX7. TS usually has a brighter & cleaner tone. The Mullards, more brown and vintage tone.

For NOS... each brand has a "house tone." Sylvania = cleaner, brighter. RCA = midrange kings. TS and Raytheon = overall the best bass and high notes & sustain.

Must warn you that GOOD NOS are getting harder to find.

Thanks for the answer and don't be sorry I appreciate all the help any of you guys give. I been playing for a ton of years and know guitars but know zip about amps so anything I can learn is greatly appreciated :D 8)

Steve's got the 12AX7's pretty well covered -- I'd add only that Sov-Tek and EHX build some pretty solid bottles too, which would provide some lower-cost alternatives. The Princeton's V2 is not a "tone tube" per se so longevity and durability are the operative parameters there.
