What I can see

Almost original except the 3 orange capacitor and 5 or 6 (? ) bypass electrolytics capacitors. Thesr are metalic blue.

Lytic capacitor like bypass cap and filter caps need to be replaced after so many years.

Filter cap under the "dog house " need to be replace too . Are they ? Dog house is a steel box with 4 screw other side of the chassis, transformer and tubes side.

If you can have some more picture it will help .

A new 3 prong power cord is a must too.

Those five filter cap are a replacement , not good as original but they do the job. The two 100 mfd are not original values but many amp tech says this help if you play loud.

Transformer is a 1966 , 45 the week

606645 , forget 606

645 , 6=1966 , 45 = 45 the week

Looks like the first filter resevoir is setup like the larger amps. With 220K bleed resistors and (2) small noise reduction capacitors. Not to say it's a bad idea, just non original. Art

+1

Those two 100-mike's in the first stage reservoir are a bit of "overkill" but if nothing else, they will help deliver a solid bottom-end bass response. As stratele mentioned, the IC brand is not precisely "milspec" as with the amp's original Mallory's. If/when the time comes to re-cap, recommend Sprague Atom's or F&T's (also suitable for use in the bias-supply circuit).

Overall, the amp seems pretty sound.

Got any pics of the exterior?

One thing about running the two 100mfd/350VDC caps in the first stage is the rectifier. Total capacitance is 50mfd, which is about the upper limit of a GOOD GZ34/5AR4. If you have issues with the rectifier going bad early --- you can try a nice ml spec 5U4GB. Not slow-start --- but a lot less succeptible to flash-over.

If you get the amp --- hope you have years of good luck with it!

And as it's a vintage amp, the PT's heater-supply winding should have ample reserve current capacity available for a directly-heated recto.

Rawk on!

If I didn't already own a '68, a '78, and a '94 re-issue, I'd definitely take a look-see.

To bad.
Those amp sell very fast if in good shape. You should know by yourself if it is a good deal and buy it right now. Asking some question to a forum take too much time .
Keep these informations and photos, you could use it for another Fender amp. There are all built the same .

Anyone notice the resistor and diode(?) arrangement on those 100mfd/350VDC caps?
