Some shot before-&-after compinent mods. Tried Jupiter amd NOS Malloty/Sprague caps. Changed out some out-of-spec resistors. Be careful, found through workign with many VC, Champs, & Broncos--- their 220k-ohm grid-to ground often wanders way far from 10% tolerance.

I don't think I've seen a power-cable with the insulated wires color-coded quite like that before.

Nice amp......did you dust it for Leo's prints?

Arjay,

I bought a bunch or brown cords from MarVac awhile back. I have no idea what machine those power cords were supposed to go.

Here's a few photos of the assembled amp. Tone is pretty good. Weber 8F150 speaker. RCA 7025s. JJ 6V6S. And a USN-JAN GE 6087-5Y3WGT slow-star rectifier. Tone is BROWN! And very nice at "10."

Arjay,

What years did Fender not put their logo onto the grilles?

THanks!

I was very tempted to go with the ceramic weber, but that silverface VC I had sounded so good with the cheaper sig 8 Alnico.

Nice score !!!

Beemer...nice score on a Nov 64 VC! Nice job on its guts and as always, looks awesome next to the 335...bet it sounds great with those humbuckers driving it hard!

As for the Logo's they went on in 65 on the "Student" models amps such as the Princeton/VC/Champ/and even the Deluxes!

None of the "student" model blackface amps received the grill logo until approximately early/mid summer of 1965. And examples of logo-less amps were still shipping as late as autumn of that year.

IIRC, the very first Vibrolux Reverb models built in late '64 were also sans a logo.

Very Nice! I have a 65, not quite as nice as yours. But got it from the original owner for a fair price.

I also put in a weber Sig8S alnico, curious how it compares with your 8F150. I'd upgrade to one of the better Weber 8s if I thought it was worth it.
