After quite a search I finally found a nice cabinet. Have had my Bandmaster, and Bassman heads for quite a while now, a wanted ad on CL brought this my way. Met a real nice guy with apparently quite a nice vintage collection of Fender and Marshall equipment. He has now decided to let the Fender stuff go. After meeting this morning, he invited me to come to his house next time to take a look...this could get interesting.

Once I get it cleaned up it should be real nice, couple of scuffs, but no tears, 2 small hols in the cloth, but nothing major...mostly just dusty, and in need of a cleaning and 2 thumbscrews.

Arnold, really nice. I bet your neighbors also know you have a "new" cab, too.

He shoots, he scores! Nice cab in pretty good condition. Appears to be a 66 from the stamp on the divider, if I am reading that right. Looks good with the Bandmaster sitting on top of it!!! I see someone removed some of the speaker screws...if you decide to remedie that, shoot me an e-mail and I can go over the process and a good source to replace them.

Enjoy that puppy!

A gentle cleansing using Windex and distilled water should have that cloth close to matching that on your amp head in no time. Be sure to remove the speakers first and use a soft rag (old-timey cloth diapers are ideal). Allow to air-dry and repeat as necessary.

Best of luck, HTH

Thanks T...Speakers were replaced, and after some schooling from our friend Arjay, i should be looking to replace them with something a little bit more suitable for the heads, but for now good enough. Any info would be appreciated, also was missing the thumbscrews...but overall very nice shape...good eye on the stamp. appears to be '66 cab, jenses is from '67, and Utah '68(Arjay got onthat straight away for me)
Thanks for the comments guys. I'm hoping to go to th sellers house within the next week or so, and see what else I can get my hands on!

Thanks Arjay, will be getting to that pronto. Following the same advice you gave me for cleaning up those heads, which were way dirtier than the cloth on this cab.

Congrats!

If you don't want to go down the recone route, I can recommend either the WGS G12C or C/S or the Weber alnico 12A125's.

+1

Trust me, the world will never miss that Utah.

The vintage Jensen C12S OTOH is worthy of some other use. It's only rated for 30 watts (perfect for a Deluxe Reverb or some other mid-power application). Or use it as trading fodder. They're worth $90 to $125 on the secondary market.

Good looking out guys. I think for now while I search out other speakers, I will install the Kendrick Blackfame speakers I have on hand. I'll probably hold on to the Jensen, and see what the Utah will bring me on CL. I have a bunch of stuff that I'm not using, and it's time to sell off, and turn into cash for use on gear I need.

I have a Weber 12A125A in my 5e3 clone and it's a great speaker. Nice tight bottom end, pristine highs, I'm really happy with it. It took a little while to break in. Sounded great when I installed it and sounds even better now.
