in terms of which color to solder tip vs. outside? Are you trying to wire an internal champ speaker or wire a speaker cable to use with external speaker cabs?

I need to make exactly what is pictured in the link or I'll just buy it, the price seems high that's why I'd rather make it.

You need a male RCA plug and some white and black cloth pushback wire and some soldering equipment. The white goes to the tip and the black to the sleeve.

White wire to the shielded contact, black wire to the grounded sleeve.

It's not "rocket surgery".

Ummm, that is speaker wire in the photo.

It doesn't matter which wire you make positive or negative as long as you connect one wire to the center pin and the other end of that wire to the "+" teminal of the speaker. The other wire than goes to the outer case of the plug and to the "-" terminal of the speaker.

If you are just going to use something like 16 gauge zip cord (lamp cord) that is one color, one wire always has a raised rib running the length of it. Make that your hot wire and connect it to the center pin of the phono plug and the "+" terminal of the speaker.

Unless, I believe you're wiring up JBL speakers, in which case it would be the opposite. I thought I had read this somewhere.

What would be the opposite of what? Pick a wire to be hot and be consistant if you are wiring multiple speakers. Everything else is irrelevant.

Or you can use this. Pull the two wires apart and you have a spare.
