I'm not in the market, but these listings from Craig's List on Long Island caught my eye:
1) Dude is asking $3100 for this Vibrolux. I'm no expert, but I thought you could buy 2 for that price...?
http://longisland.craigslist.org/msg/3596386232.html

2) This fellow is asking $1400 for a Fender Pro, a model I'm not familiar with
http://longisland.craigslist.org/msg/3588508602.html

Any thoughts?

here is a sweet little deal for someone

http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwi/msg/3600974937.html

Blackface Bandmaster

I would run and get it but my son just got a gig with a band that has a national tour and needs some gear and fast (bass gear) !

Something for everyone on craigslist today:

http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/csw/msg/3598196781.html

Blackface Showman and a Bassman 2x12. If I hadn't just gotten into a Bassman Head and a Bandmaster cab recently I'd hop on this...

The Pro is highly desirable.

The asking prices can be reflective of the local market. It would not surprise me if prices are higher in some of the bigger markets like NYC. However, the internet certainly has leveled the playing field..... some one can easily go on-line and find a better deal from a reputable dealer.

That's about the going rate for an original blackface Vibrolux Reverb. The example shown is an exceptionally nice one. April 1966......a great year for VR's. The included OEM Utah's are best left in their shipping cartons.

The Pro Amp dates to August of 1964, a couple of months older than my own. Pre-CBS (Leo might've actually touched it). It's clean although I'm doubtful that the Jensen Concert Series speaker is original to the amp.

Unfortunately, the CVR bears little resemblance whatsoever to a "real" Vibrolux Reverb.

Crazy is the right word...

Buyer beware as I'm not sure how repairable these CBS-era solid state amps were.

Everything in Fender's first-generation solid-state amps is "old school" discreet components -- most of that stuff remains available (except for the proprietary oil used in the Dimension IV can, which was later determined to be a potent carcinogen).

The guy had the same ad here on St. Louis C/L!

http://stlouis.craigslist.org/msg/3607942844.html

He must really be trying to sell this thing especially at $350...beginning to be suspicious about this one!
