With a vintage-but-flawless specimen, it *might*. A player is generally concerned with tone while a collector grooves on originality.

Definitely a case-by-case decision. I looked at my VC - it has been re-tolexed (well-done, but not exactly correct),. The speaker wasn't original. Some small touches of rust here and there. To me its a player quality amp. If it had been completely original and pristine, my decision would have been different.

I paid nearly $700 (with shipping and handling) for my 1968 SF-DE Bronco. And it's been one of the best purchases (knock on wood). A keeper, for sure. I hate to amdmit it but the Bronco of SFVC gets as much use as the VLR. I even jumper the Bronco with the Ampeg Jet. Crazy tone combo.

Nice amp, I saw one of these at SamAsh recently, they are asking $399.99 for it. It's not a drip edge and the condition isn't the best but I might check it out again soon.
