Blues, good news! As for FLA... didn't Holly come from there? Love the use of standup bass and Precision for the bass lines of this song (4:58 of YT video):

If you mean Buddy, I believe he was from Lubbock, TX.

If you mean Holly the Exotic Dancer well, I couldn't say. 8)

Never lived there, been there many times.

I lived in Arizona twice, kinda nice too !

Florida just isn't the same as the rest of the "South" sorry !
Spanish moss and pecan trees, That's where you find God's people !!!

I agree. There's a bunch of Yankees down here. I can say that, I used to be one until 78. The only place in the country that you have to drive north for eight hours to get to the Deep South.

LMAO!

I enjoyed the time I spent at Duke Field and Eglin AFB but I can image some of the larger metropolitan areas being fully infested with eastern-seaboard "transplants" and seasonal "snowbirds" who have no grasp of genteel, southern culture.

I think you would find life at MacDill a whole lot different. There was a time when they actually flew some cool planes at that base. Those days are long gone.

Sadly, around here, things are too busy to sit out on the veranda and watch the gators.

I always suspected it was like Queens or Brooklyn, only with palm trees and waterbugs.

Did you ever definitively identify that smurf-sized tranny?

No Arjay I haven't given it much attention

there are no codes
Hand written notes unreadable except 8 ohms and "hole" on the bottom
Looks paper wound if that's the correct terminology ?
It is in working order so.......

Chris, sure looks a lot better with the real thing. You may need to open the bell ends (remove the 4 screws and nuts) that cover the windings -- to find the manufacturer.

That looks like a DR replacement sized aftermaket OPT and not a dual 6L6GC type. Or maybe an early tweed 6L6G tranny.

Bass respsone ought to improve by an order of magnitude.

The wiring says USA 600voltsTEW 105 degrees LL-26044

the hand writting says 8 ohm Abbreviated Assembly Hole and an arrow pointing up
????

Black & Green then Red, Blue & Brown wiring about half the size of the correct Transformer

How can i measure the windings to see if it is truly an 8 ohm tranny ?
