Hello all,
I'm new to this forum but have been lurking for some time... I have found quite a bit of good info here.

I'm in the market for a nice sounding 64-67 Black Face Super Reverb and have looked at one that is all legit (with help from some searching here and google - Transformer Date Codes, S/N and Tube Chart code, knobs with the screws in them) from June of '65, except I cannot ID the speakers. They are Ceramic "Swiss Cheese" 10's with blue fender stickers on them that say Made In USA and don't have a date code stamped on the rim of the back of the speaker. They do, however have a stamped code of B4-2266 Nothing else. Does anyone have any idea what this is?

Also, as far as value goes the price is $1650. Is this high for today's market? It's not in the greatest shape but it's not a total eyesore either. Couple holes in the grill cloth and some tolex issues as well as the control face has some bent edges on the bottom just above the grill cloth. Etc..

Here's some photos:

Those Ceramic Swiss Cheesers are CTS Ceramics. Very good speaker IMHO. I have em in my '65 BFSR! Mine do not have the Blue Fender Label on em and under that blue label you would see the markings like mine...which give you the manufacturer EIM code (137 = CTS) and date of 513 = 13 week of 65.
As for price looks really clean with the exception of the grill cloth. I picked up mine for $1K and you can see the condition, near mint, with original cover!....but I did get a great deal!!!! The price seems about right, but you might be able to talk em down $200 more maybe...

Two nice looking supers! I think the price reflects the current market around my area. Old fenders black or silver fetch a real premium now. I bet that one sounds great!

What do the tranny codes reveal and what markings are stamped on the tube chart?
