Anyone able to tell me more about this? I was given it about 6 years ago when I took up guitar. I've never used it and can't seem to find anything about it online. I'm moving house and just won't have room for it so I'd like to know if possible what year it was made and if anyone knows a value that would be awesome, don't want to screw myself or anyone else with a price.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheap solid state practice amp:

I wouldn't pay more than $75 for it.

Rats!!! Thought we might be getting into the real amp. Always thought the 5F10 would be a great recording amp. My Matchless Clubman used that 6AT6 input tube. Anybody play one of these Fenders? Art

Art, You know what I think of Matchless. I love my Hurricane. Hand wound trannies of Sampson era are outrageously good. I've heard the 6AT6 in some early Selmer amps. Mullard and Brimar are good tubes.

Surprisingly, the Tungsram 6AT6 (EBC 90) is a good tube. Same vintage as their excellent ECC83 (1960-80s).

Phansford...I was doing good with this thread until you posted pics of a tweed Harvard! I had a August of 59 one, and let it go in a trade and everytime I hear Fender Harvard, I get a bit misty eyed and truely regret letting that amp go... Yours is a beauty by the way!

Phans, that's a real beauty!!!! No doubt the sonics are way cool. My schemo shows a 6AT6, but the tube substitution book shows the 6AV6 to be a good R&R! My guess would be that your 6AV6 is an upgrade. Very cool!!! Art

Art, If I remember correctly, the 6AV6's triode section (of the diode-triode) is more like a 12AX7 section. And the 6AT6 triode is closer to the 12AT7.

Bluesky, well at least we stuck with "Harvard." And didn't bring "Princeton" or "Yale" into the discussion.
