No, they are made at the JJ factory specifically for GT, not "rebranded". TheTubeStore is also misleading about the non-existent "JJ/Tesla" tubes, as there is no such tube, they are simply JJ. That is all....

The Tube Store doesn't sell Groove Tubes. This is what their website says:

Actually, re-branding of tubes has been going on for decades. As witnessed in photo below. All are Mullard/Philips made GZ34's, from the 1960's.

That's all well and good, I have read TheTubeStore claim, but it's BS. In order to be "rebranded", or relabeled, the tubes would have to have a different label to begin with, and they did/do not. TheTubeStore also claims that JJ tubes are made at the "Newly reorganized Tesla factory", further adding the names "Telefunken, Siemens, Amperex, Mullard, and Brimar" to the list of tubes that were made at the JJ factory, all claims are also BS. Deceitful at best. Funny that the Tesla factory still exists, and still makes tubes, not JJs of course. Tesla stopped making the 12AX7, sold the equipment to JJ, and then JJ started making a different 12AX7 in a different factory, no relation to Tesla other than that. Eurotubes, and JJ themselves make absolutely no mention of Tesla. TheTubeStore is FOS on a few counts. TheTubeStore people seem to have a different view of reality, but I guess that they need to boost sales of JJ tubes with a few lies? I am not impressed.

"Rebranded", 'relabled", "made for", whatever. The fact of the matter is that GT does not make their own tubes. Even their own website says: "There are very few tube factories in the world, GT sources only from the best"

http://wpc.077d.edgecastcdn.net/00077D/ ... _no_BB.pdf

They make no mention of any tube making capability anywhere on their website.

http://www.groovetubes.com/

I don't think JJ needs The Tube Store to boost their sales.

Correct, except for the GE reissue, which GT did make themselves. GT has several "exclusive" tubes made just for them at factories including the JJ factory and some Chinese factories. My thinking is that these can not be "relabeled" if they only get one label in the first place. To say that they are relabeled would indicate that the tubes are simply selected and tested normal production JJ tubes, and they are not. I have compared the JJ tubes to their GT brethren, they are not the same.... similar, but still not the same tubes, in sound and physical appearance.

So that I'm clear, I don't have a problem with JJ or their tubes, I have a problem with BS (not you bluesky636  ) To my surprise recently, one of my B&H amps sounded the best with a set of JJ6V6, after a comparison with several types of GT, EH, and even RCA 6V6. The JJ 6V6 is a different kind of 6V6 than most others, more like a 6L6, but in this little amp, they sound great.

BMW2002Ti just had a thread about the Tesla factory (in Prague), still running, so how in the world can the JJ factory (in Slovakia), started in 1994, be the "newly reorganized Tesla factory"? Right, it can't. If TheTubeStore isn't trying to boost sales, why lie about JJ tubes? Those funny Canadians.

http://www.fender.com/community/forums/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=79999

BTW, the "old" Tesla factory shown in the link above is where the Telefunken, Siemens, Amperex, Mullard, and Brimar tubes were made, not in the "new" JJ factory.

Oh, almost forgot to add that New Sensor does not manufacture tubes either as claimed by TheTubeStore. New sensor is a marketer/distributor of the Russian tubes made at the Reflector factory in Saratov, one of the plants that GT uses for their tested, selected and relabeled tubes. Most of my favorite new production tubes come from the Reflector factory, and yes I usually prefer the select ones from GT.

I think we are arguing semantics.

I just buy my JJs from Eurotubes and my NOS tubes from Mike K. I'm happy.

You gave an interesting clue in original post. 50 hertz vs. 60 hertz. I am no expert, however I have been an industrial maintenance tech for years and have witnessed sensitive industrial test gear/machines exhibit erratic behavior due to voltage fluctuations. Sometimes we would have to adjust the transformer to another step up or down. That is not technically the hertz issue, (frequency of cycles per second) however if it didn't matter, ask yourself why your amp is marked 60 hertz and as I understand your situation you are employing 50 hertz. I would predict symptoms of at least a hum or buzz.

If you read the rest of the thread, you would see that that the OP received a new amp which appears to work. Class A, single ended amps are notorious for humming. Mine does it too. It is especially noticable through a 12" extension cab compaed to the internal 6" speaker.
