Daniel, the output trans swap is interesting. I can understand the rationale. An R&R with the stock 50watt trans is not tough. And they are not that costly. If you choose to buy a used tranny, be sure the leads have not been cut short of the solder points!!! Technically, you'd want the used tranny to be hi-pot tested. But that's kind of over- the- top. Art

Sorry to bring back a necro-thread! :roll:

It's been brought up somewhat in this thread that the AC568 circuit isn't as sought after as say, AB165 circuit.

What is the main reason for this statement? If someone wants a cleaner headroom Bassman, won't the AC568 fit that bill better?

If you want a Bassman with the maximum in (clean) headroom, buy a Super Bassman or Bassman 135.
