My son has a Fender concert amp. The speaker plug is the flat type. It looks like it might be an after-market replacement and the soldering is sloppy. This plug is acting up. Can I replace it with a standard 1/4" mono plug?

Thanks for your help.

Not sure exactly what you mean, pics would help to decipher whether what your asking is possible.

Agree with Stratele on the Switchcraft and the vintage Fender plugs. Usually keep one of each in stock for repairs. Lately, I been using GHS 90 degree plugs, for input guitar cables(amp side) and for speaker cables. Found the soldering situation to be more isolated for the conductors...JMO....Art
