Bought a '72 Twin Reverb not long ago. It came loaded with one jbl e120 and one jbl k120. The guy who had it before was a pedal steel player and put those speakers in. I'm using a Les Paul Traditional guitar , and have been trying to bond with these speakers for a while now, but I'm not happy with the sound. What are some of your recommendations for replacement speakers? I've heard that the new Jenson neos are harsh sounding, so they're out. The weight of the jbl's aren't worth the sound I'm getting so far. I'd like to keep the weight factor down, and keep the ultimate clean tones I get. Ideas?

Were those JBLs reconed? The surrounds can get a little brittle and cheesy with age. May contribute to some odd harmonics.
