I found this 1970 SF with original (i think) Oxford’s, all the tags, owner’s manual, original cover, schematic and looks like brand new, IMO. Guy wanted $1000 but took $800. It was a local pick-up so I didn’t have to pay for shipping. I saw them anywhere from $350-$1500 on eBay, I know there are so many different ones with different speakers and what not…. But I just kpt thinking about how new this one looks and he bought it brand new in 1970 when he got out of the service (he is retired now and just wanted the space). I have a ’73 with the original JBL D120Fs and it sounds so incredible and thought this would be awesome hooked up in stereo using the two of them… some will say it’s a great deal while other will say I got screwed and it’s not worth it but I’m happy as a pet rabbit with a house made if carrots. I will be keeping this for a long long time so I guess I can always get my money back one day if I really want it. The investment has to be better than the stock market right now.....Here are my pix of joy, hope you like….

Note that some two years into the silverface era, Fender was still shipping the black-enameled footswitches with their newer amps.

She's clean, real clean......could be a poster-girl for all that was right with the '70s.

Great score!

8)

He hadn't played it in 35 years; it had been sitting in his closet with the original Victoria Luggage cover, which I got too…. Guy bought it right when he got out of the service and after a while went to acoustic so it just got put away in a closet. Still can't stop looking at it. It's like finding a old muscle car in a barn that was never touched, raced or modified.

+1

It's a real slice of Americana, no doubt about it!

Thanks,
I was lucky to find it in that condition, that CS Strat has become my favorite.... and since it’s a Relic I don’t have to worry about banging it around bit….. lol
