I tried to insert pictures but I did not figure it out so I put in the web addresses for the three pics. I do know its not a fender hope no ones insulted or hope I am not out of line either

I'd opine that the amp is very early '50s (note the output tranny mounted directly to the speaker frame) and is likely a variation of Leo's 5F1 Champ circuit.

That's really hard to say.

Have you played the amp?

Kalina amps were made by Valco.

Check for photos and info at http://www.valcoamp.com

Probably a 5 watter. Early. (late 40's early 50's)

Retroverbial - is that a transformer connected to the speaker? If so.... then maybe a Field Coil?

If it works and you like the tone, I wouldn't go more than $200. It might have some tubes that are out of production and can't be replaced.

FWIW - These Valcos are much darker than Fenders and some people don't like them.

That is not a field-coil speaker. The output tranny is attached to the speaker frame. Fender did the same to many of its line in the 1940's. You can see the permanent magnet assembly (looks Alnico, if that helps the dating).

You can see the same arrangement on this Model 26 (1946):

Correct. Fender's "Dual Professional" (grand-pappy to what would ultimately become the 5C4 Super Amp) used a similar arrangement with its pair of Jensens -- an output tranny was bolted to each of the two speakers.

Learning every day. Thanks. :D

That Bell & Howell I emailed you about..... my amp guy thought it could be a field coil. But I've determined that the speaker is a Jensen P12P. Gotta love Google. Have Part #, will travel.

Back to the OP....... Let's us know if you acquire the amp.

FWIW (and pardon me if you already know this, but) The issue with those Harmony guitars will be the neck. They typically were just "steel reinforced" - no truss rod. So when the neck goes bad (warping/cupping) you're done. And the neck joint has to be solid. They are not worth more than $150.... no matter what anyone tries to tell you. So even if you buy the set and decide to flip the guitar, realize you won't get much out of it.

Thank you all. At this point they do not want to separate the pair, if they decide to, they will it me know and then I will try it and make an offer, as I am not interested in the guitar.
Thank you

Patrick, most good field-coil speakers DO NOT have a tranny on the frame. Their large electromagnet is driven by the power transformer. Thus, you need a specially wound PT to use these things.

BeeMer - thanks for the feedback and info.

I did learn from my amp guy that we would need a DC power source to operate a field coil. I was thinking that Bell & Howell cabinet might have a field coil, luckily its a 12" Jensen alnico. Unfortunately, its 16 ohms.... so I now I need a transformer (correct?) to step down the ohms to 8 so I can use this with my amps...... that or buy an amp that can push a 16 ohm speaker. HaHa.

I'll probably get the B&H late next week. I'll let you know how it goes. I am hoping the speaker is in good working condition.

If the speaker needs re-coning, consider having it done with an 8-ohm coil to broaden its application potential.

Patrick, that EM speaker coil needs a specific range of DC voltage AND current. Best to have a schematic. I have some schemos with field-coil speakers at home. Gotta get through with this crazy GY shift. Then, I'll check it out.

Ppl I know that have an orphan FC speaker, often go for a separate custom wound tranny to drive it. Boy, it sure be nice to have that OEM PT...
