Arjay, not to be too over enthusiastic, but...FANTASTIC!

I had always heard that you really don't want a 15 inch speaker to play lead on, but this thing with the Bantam circuit is just lovely, and I have cranked it up to 7 or 8 on a few occassions and it gets a real nice crunch to it. I am tempted to try it in stereo set up with my BFSR and see how they sound together.

Well quit draggin' yer feet an' git 'er done, sarge!

I'm betting it'll sound superb......smooth Jensen mids and bottom end, punchy and articulate highs via CTS. What's not to love?

" had always heard that you really don't want a 15 inch speaker to play lead , "

T2, it completely amp setup & speaker-type dependent. I love my Pro with the single JBL D130F, for lead. Warm mids. Very clean high notes. And a LOT of great chordal harmonics. Single notes prolly not in same range as a much more potent TR loaded with D120F. But, double stops and unison bend --- and all that articulation jazz sounds pretty sweet on the 15-inch.

And the vibrato and reverb really sound better (dunno if its the deeper tone or smoother tone) --- than the 12-inch

Just my 2¢ worth.

It's the difference between 177 square inches of radiating cone (the 15") and 113 square inches of radiating cone (the 12"). The human ear perceives this increase in moving air mass as a richer, more nuanced tone that often extends the bass response of the fundamental frequencies. Of course, this comparison presumes that each speaker is mounted in a similar type of cabinet and driven with the same amount of amplifier power.

Thanks for the insight to the world of 15 inch speakers!

This dual-amp rig really brings home the sonic bacon......

With a pair of CTS alnico ten's and a fifteen-inch JBL there's not much tonal territory that can't be covered with this combination.

Arnold...how about some pics? And was the baggle the replacable type? Haven't seen any updates? I did a baffle replacement in a 69 Bantam Bass Amp (replaced that dang Yamaha trapezoidle POS) and Arjay was an imense help and I learned alot about Fenders amp construction (of the SF variety anyway) doing it.

Pics were a mess, I passed it up, still on the search, but too busy to really put an effort.
