Bluesky, think it's an early version of a "floating" paraphrase inverter. As the article says, I believe that Ampeg used this lossy design in some of their early combos.

The 6N7 is a great duo-triode. Much like a 12AU7, but with better linear swing. My amp has a metal Tungsol 6N7. Great tone. Really better than a glass bottle. Very clean high notes.
