(Not sure if your being sarcastic - - since you seem to be an experienced collector)

Two different circuits for the Tweed Champ - 5E1 and 5F1. Seems most "collectors" want the 5F1.

Not sure I would call a tweed Champ a rare amp, but those two are in excellent condition. It seemed for a while that the 5F1 in black tolex was the "rare" Champ, but I've seen a ton of those on-line over the past year or so.

Maybe the question is what quantifies an amp as being "rare". I typically don't consider condition a factor in determining rarity. I typically think about rarity as it related to the number of units produced or number of surviving specimens. I''d be interested in hearing how people define "rare".

I share your view, Patrick.

Those maybe are DIY amps. Or resissues. Those photos are narrow panel Champs. Had both 5E1 and 5F1 circuits. Neither had tone controls. Notice schemo of both.

Only difference I can see is a filter choke in place of the 10K-ohm resistor between first & second stage of the main filter circuit. Many more 5F1's were built, so there are many more still floating about. Mine is a 5F1.

I'm going with Beemer on this.... another of your DIY Modification/creations (like your Bassman Maple cab w/ 12" drivers)

Okay - spill the beans.

I can assure you both amps are in fact vintage Fender amps.

This is why I told you they were rare.

Alright,
I'LL spill.

The 2 knob amp is a small box Princeton 5E2,
it's one of 145 built in June of 1955.

This amp is ultra rare and has the negative feedback loop
along with a choke.

More pics later, this may be the best condition example left.

The other amp I will tell you later.

I was thinking Princeton or maybe a Harvard prototype, for the two knob job, but the box is too small and the Harvard had three inputs. Your killing us Paper!
