Thanks for the link, he has some other interesting stuff too.

Indeed he does. I buy my repro speaker wiring harnesses from him when I need one for a restoration. He also has repro speaker labels that are quite well done.

Finding that EBay sale of $2250 for the same 5G5 model Pro Amp as mine has hurriedly prompted me to do two things, take better identification pictures of mine and call my insurance company to increase the rider value for that amp in my amp barn on my policy!

I've searched for a Pro Amp 5G5 Schematic on the net and no one seems to have one. There are 5A5, B, C, D, E, F, but no G! A couple schematic sites posted comments that they are looking for the 5G5 circuit and asking for any uploads of it. So it appears to be a legit schematic and rare. There were also comments that the 5G6 is close but not the same.

Here's a close-up picture of the JBL D130F original speaker in it (my old amp tech added the brass washers decades ago to take out some speaker buzzing I was getting) and some other amp pics. Mine is not as pristine as BMW's though, it's spent a lot of time in smoke filled studio's and small venues. I also remember reading that the reason Fender ditched this pinkish brown very thin "wrinkle" tolex was the "Knots" in the wood caused a staining (a wood chemical like tannin?) of the light colored thin tolex, as you can clearly see has happened to mine and other similar 60-61 Fenders you see around the web. I have a 1960 Blonde Tremolux too and where there are Knots, there is also stains; that god the wood they used on it only had two Knots! The Tolex on your 63 Pro Amp, BMW, is much thicker than on the 60.

Now I need to find out what my 60 Tremolux is worth!

I'm curious about the tilt-back legs.

These are not commonly seen on Pro Amps.

I've seen others online in shops and for sale with them and with out them. I suspect you could order them with the tilt-back legs from the Fender factory too. I compared the installation of the legs to ones on my other early 60's Fender combos, and they are identical in method and hardware.

My 1960 Tremolux cab has the same identical legs with the same Patent numbers on them.

Here's another 60 Pro Amp with the legs.

Perhaps they were available as a dealer-installed option.

My '64 blackface Pro Amp does not have them.

As well, I've seen at least one '64 Vibroverb that didn't either (and by factory catalog specs, it should've).

Just another Fender anomaly to be researched......

The term "anomaly" in production is permanently affixed to anything Fender.
I heard from a family source that various production managers were always pissed off at Leo for making them use up ALL parts before switching to new batches that they were making or buying from vendors, sometimes running out of the right part for a certain model and having to use parts from another to finish a "few" instruments to finish dealer orders. Plus Leo was always screwing around with circuits, pickup designs (windings, gauge, pole piece lengths and material) who's pots he liked, etc. and all this chit went on during production runs. It was like SN stamped neck plates, Leo would insist they ordered a huge quantity all a time, pre-stamped and chromed by the vendor and all in a huge crate, so numbers were never sequential and numbers often ran over into a subsequent year, sometime 2 years if it was a low production or unpopular guitar model with dealers. They'd knock out 500 - 750 Tele (etc.) necks at a time (same for bodies), inspected and stamped and put into inventory. So the holy grail of neck date stamps means nothing to when the whole guitar was actually assembled and finished (made) for shipment to the dealers.

I've known a lot of dealers (small and big stores) over the decades, I can't imagine any, at least here in California, putting tilt-back legs on any amps. These guys are nominally lazy bastards and only want to sell out the front door what delivery came in the back door. Some of them are even musicians of some minor scale.

"Back in the day", Sherman-Clay and The Vox Room (both in Sacramento) would do dealer-installs of specific factory-approved Fender accessories. For a handsome price of course.
