Did you connect a footswitch to the Bandmaster, Arnold?

If you don't have one handy, a "shorting plug" will do in a pinch.

The circuit must be "closed" for the tremolo to operate on this model.

If time permits tonight, I plan to make a switch, assume it's just a NO - NC switch to an rca plug?

Cedar...I never tire of seeing that video!

Arjay...Windex and distilled water? Don't remember you telling me about that one...will have to add that one to the bag of tricks....Although the 409 and Krud Kutter worked wonders on that 69 Bantam rebuild, so guess you can never have too many different ways to get there.

There are some components (both active and inert) in 409 and most other all-purpose spray cleaners which are not precisely identified and I worry about their possible effects on the synthetic filaments of aged cloth. Unscented Windex contains only ammonia which thus far has proven safe for my purposes.

After searching for a new amp, I have been really doing a lot of research, asking questions, sending emails, making phone calls, shopping CL, and all that. I opened my search to the Orlando area(I'm on the west coast of Fl, about 2 hours from there) I came across a deal I could not pass up, so after 6 1/2 hours, and roughly 250 mile round trip, here are the fruits of my labor. They sound fantastic, will spend the next few days cleaning up, and going over everything with a fine tooth comb, but so far I'm very pleased with the purchase!

Good find, Arnold.
I have an amp head posted. Nobody has said a thing about it until one fan
of this amp says it's dirty and I need to simply just spray water on the grill cloth.
Then air dry it quickly.

Might try that first before adding ammonia or strong chemicals on vintage materials.
Good luck. Toppscore :)

One thing so far about the bandmaster is the vibrato doesn't work, no biggie so far, as I probably wouldn't use it(thats what my univibe is for) Haven't really started to dig in yet, hoping it's the tube, and not the opto.

Here is to hoping it's a simple cap lead to solder. Toppscore :)

Sweet finds !
I have found a lot of Gems on Craigs list, ya just gotta know what your looking at when ya get there, Thats where Guys like Arjay and Beemer and Aclem &&&...... are worth their weight in gold !

Studying Fender amps and all the fine points can and will get you some nice gear at great prices !

Every amp you see in my signature here came from craigs list, I will also say every one of them needed a little help when I got them home and so having this forum and the knowledgable guys on it have saved me a ton of $$$

Yes you have done quite well, Especially on that super reverb...helluva score my friend!

Same here, I tested these methods on a small inconspicuous area first and once I had no issues, I pressed forward very carefully. The 409 cleaned out tons of brown dirt from not only the tolex but the grill cloth too. Could not believe how much dirt came off that amp as it didn't look all that bad. I have not seen any type of degredation to the 69's grill cloth as of yet and it has been 6 months or more so, I think these cleaning techniques can be safely added to the list. I do like the idea about soaking the knobs, and then using a toothbrush on the splines on them...got to make it easier.

I do use 409 on soiled Tolex. It's great for most common grime and dirt and doesn't do bad with latex paint spatters either. For lacquer or enamel paint spots I favor WD40.

I've been very lucky on CL, no scarier than any other time I go out. I actually meet some very cool people, but point well taken the world has a lot of kooks. I actually meet way more "scary people" at the gigs we play!

Lots of known hijacks, robberies, fake leads to muggings.
I meet my Craigslist customers at one of my guitar shops
and let them play and check out axes & amps, there.
