Appreciate your recommendation, Arjay. the tone cap is just the poly film that Lindy Fralin supplied. The Strat is the Fralin set-up of: volume, tone, and blender(5 way pup selector). The neat thing is that you can get all three pups working at once. The blender pot is in the lower tone pot position. It's a really versatile set-up IMO. Topp, that zebra stripe top is nice! You know, you can experiment with different tone caps and volume pot values in your guitar. That 12K pup must be one hot cooker! Do you have a 500K or 1Meg volume pot? Also the tone pot value can be adjusted to suit your needs. JMHO Art

That Fralin blender set-up is awesome. If you dime your amp's mojo control you'll get some of the ballsiest tones ever heard from a blackface.

I forgot to add that I'd rather not use pedals to adjust the guitar's dark tones,
nor changing an amp to total dime on the treble controls. Just would like some input
on options or ideas or experiences towards modifying the guitar's electronics. Thanks

Art, I've noticed there are two main types of guitar/amp nuts. Those that hunt for tone through various amps. And those that hunt for tone through various guitars and EFX boxes.
A lot of guys I know have a LOT of guitars (with various setups) and stomp boxes. But, maybe only three amps they gig with--- max. And then there are those that have maybe 4-6 guitars, a basic stomp box panel or two--- and 15 amps.
I'm afraid you prolly know which catagory I fall into.
I enjoy matching the guitar and amp together without pedals.
Some are just meant for each other.

Last night I was practicing with an HHH Super Strat and my 1968 Dual Showman Reverb.
This is the guitar I just added a single-coiled sized Guitar Fetish in the middle positon,
as it has for the Neck Pickup a Dimarzio Humbucker from Hell, and for the Bridge Pickup
a Dimarzio Super 3 Distortion

Guitar Fetish states my new pickup: "12k GFS True Coil is is our hottest True Coil- And should match the output and power of a 9K single coil pickup and is a great match for humbuckers. True-Coils use an old-school vintage style single coil pickup mated to an under-wound coil that is strategically placed to retain ALL of the vintage warmth, body and clarity while reducing almost all of the 60 cycle hum." I believe this is a "stacked-humbucker".

The Super Strat had the darkest tones I've experienced, in most all five positions.
Of course the Guitar Fetish True middle pickup had the brightest of the pickup
combinations, but still too dark for me . . . . Even with the guitar's treble on 10.

As pictured below, this guitar offers only one tone control and one volume control.
Need to do more experimenting with other amps, but am already considering adding
a booster to this guitar or maybe a new Tone/Treble potentiometer or maybe have
my guitar tech change the capacitors.

Any suggestions on "brightening up" a HHH Strat with the above humbucking pickups???

It's a "new guitar" to me as I bought it last month and immediately took it to
the tech to set her up, redo the wiring and add the Guitar Fetish pickup.

Thanks for any and all ideas on possibilities to brighten up this really cool guitar.
Toppscore :)

***I should probably repost this on the Stratocaster Forum.
Was trying to match guitars and amps.

Yeah Topp, the guitar forum for sure. Can't speak for the other folks here, but my axe experience and approach is very rudimentry. Kind of go with pots, caps, wire, circuit lay out, switches, pups, neck alignment, neck relief, nut slot depth, string gauge, and intonation(Peterson virtual strobe tuner). But there is alot more! Amp and guitar matching can be a long term situation, unless you get lucky! JMO Art

Thanks, it is up on the Strat forum.
I like this thread as I can sense the true "soul" of my guitars and amps
without pedals. Thanks again. Take care. Toppscore 8)
