Given the prices silverfaces have been going for over in the US, $622 for a '79 seems way too much.

Buy one that's beat up for cheap and fix it up. As long as the transformers are original, there's not that many parts inside...

A blackface Champ isn't worth much more than that. I saw a '66 Vibrochamp go for under six bills recently.

A clean '64 BF Champ was on CL in Nashville this week for $400,I started to think about it but I've spent too much already this month....some good deals pop up here sometimes,so many broke musicians in town.

Hi Guys

Been chatting to a guy with a 1972 Vibro Champ and he is asking £400 pounds for it.

I sent him a message about paying by paypal and he said if I do it that way it will have to be nearer to the BIN price.

Would someone mind looking at the listing and see whether it looks like a good deal. Seems so to me especially if I can get a bit more money off to cover the transformer and delivery etc.

The auction is here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 242wt_1396

There is a 1968 model but he took the speaker out and the original now has a tear and to buy his webber speaker as well would cost me £480. I think I would prefer original over a tinkered with amp.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1968-Fender-V ... 576wt_1396

Thanks guys - your probably fed up with me but I really appreciate it.

Tom

Personally, I'd buy the '68. The chassis's lead dress is better and it has the preferred cabinetry with a screw-in baffle board.

Likely it's better than the original Oxford. But it wouldn't be my first choice for a replacement.
