Thanks everyone,

I have had quite a few people on the TDPRI (telecaster.com) tell me that i should do this and that, replace, add, remove, ect….????
One guy mentioned this:

"Congrats Nice amp looks like 4 of the caps on the board have been changed not sure why they did not change that one electrolytic out I would change that out along with the caps under the dog house if they have not been changed. Maybe the caps under the dog house have been changed since it has newer tubes and I see 4 of the caps on the board have been changed."

This is great advice but I have no Idea what he’s talking about. I now know what a dog house is (thanks to the Internet) but what the hell is an electrolytic????? sounds like something you'd find in a Sport drink....lol

My thing is that the amp sounds so damn good why should I even touch it at the moment???
Shouldn’t I just enjoy it till it really needs to have work done or just poops out???

I have a brand new EC Tremolux ($2795) retail and sells for around $2000 and this Deluxe amp sounds as good or better....

I hate to even touch it much less move it around too much.

oh, and Retro,
I'm going to try the tube thing you talked about.

"Try replacing V3 with a known good 12AX7"

I have (6) new GT12AX7 that fender sent me for my Tremolux since the tubes rattled like crazy when I bought it....

I guess one of those would be OK for now?????
Thanks....

The "electrolytic" are capacitors. The blue lipstick shaped and orange colored components on your circuit board. The smaller brown components with colored bands are resistors. The orange flat disks are capacitors too. The difference is that typically, electrolytics are polarized and should be installed/replaced much like you would a battery in that they need to be installed in a certain way.

Here's a Wiki link that may help:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrolytic_capacitor

Yours look good to me but I'll let others with more experience answer that question.

Retro,
Did the tube swap and BAM, works great, just a little difference in the volume but not near as bad as it was. I can live with this no problem.
Thanks for the diagnostic help…..

That's great! I may be a cantankerous sonofabitch to some here but unlike those poseurs and pretenders, I really do know WTF I'm talking about when it comes to these vintage artifacts.

Let me know if you intend to swap the Weber out for a more traditional speaker -- I have a few ideas to run by you.

RAWK ON!

Guilty as charged. I know a little but compared to you I am a pretender.

Cheers,
