EH12AY7-V1
ge12AT7-V2
JJ6V6'S
JJ5Y3

with 12AX7's (LPS / EH / mullard / GT-R / GT-C) in V2, i did get all hell is breaking loose when i would walk up close to the amp, and then go back to silent after i step back a few paces - THAT was cool, but maybe just too much gain especially with humbuckers. So i then tried a sovtek5751 in V2, good, lower gain but still too much, unless using my strat. I know the sovtek is prob not the 5751 to put in this amp, but that's all i had. Then i started thinking, why not another 12AY7 or 12AT7? So i tried and liked the 12AT7 in v2. The amp is now a good spectrum for me. I jumper the channels and use my humbucker guitar when i want crazy breakup, and not-jumped and input 2 when i want smoother lighter breakup, or just use my strat.
I have NOT yet tried a 12Ay7 in V2.
The EH6V6's were ok, but the JJ6V6's seemed to smooth it out and help the bottom end.
From what I've been told, the JJ5Y3 is a true 5Y3, so i kept that in there.
The 12at7's i tried in V2 were: EH12at7, GT12at7, and g.e. 12at7

All NOS RCA tubes in my Fender 57' tweed Deluxe reissue, 5Y3 GT, 6V6'S, 12AX7, and 12AY7, best move I made, really made the difference IMHO. Image

+1 on the RCA's. This is my first build, but got talked out of it by a friend. Wish I still had it. I tried lot's of tubes but liked the RCA's the best.

Beautiful bottles!

It doesn't get any better than that.

Run all JJ's in mine. Two 6v6, a GZ34 rectifier and two 12ax7. I also ha a Weber 12a125a Alnico. The amp really sings. Mine's on a pcb, it was my first build.

A suggestion for those running 5Y3GT rectifiers. The GE made micanol based, BP 6087 rectifier is a nice slow start-up tube. These are good for cold starts. Just a FYI.
