I bought this amp a few years ago from a neighbor who really didn't know anything about it. His brother got in a storage auction in the 80s. According to the references I can find online and using the chasis code it's unclear if it's a 1969 or 1970. There is not drip edge which leads me to believe its 1970, though I've read that really isn't definitive. And, if I am reading all the codes right, everything dates anywhere from January 1969 to November 1969.

Here's what I have:

Speaker:
114827 465-935-1216-11 Oxford, September 3, 1969

Transformers (all Woodward-Schumacher):
022921 --606933 August 20, 1969
022640 -606-9-03 January 20, 1969
022707 --606916 April 23, 1969
P025130 606-9-46 CSA TESTED November 19, 1969

Chasis:
A 31773 1969 or 1970

I've seen this reference on at least two different web sites:
Deluxe Reverb AB763, AB868 (silverface)
A24000 to A26000 - 1967
A26000 to A28500 - 1968
A28500 to A33000 - 1969
A31000 to A33000 - 1970
A33000 to A34500 - 1971
A34500 to A37000 - 1972
A37000 to A39000 - 1973
A39000 to A42000 - 1974
A42000 to A43000 - 1975
A43000 to A45000 - 1976

So there is an overlap in serial numbers between 1969 and 1970? (A31000-A33000)

Calling it a late '69 early '70 is probably as close as your going to get,really....you might look inside the chassis and see if there's a stamped date code near the power transformer,be careful though....

+1

I'd call it as December of '69 or January of 1970.

The P/N's for the trannies as check as legitimate to a Deluxe Reverb and the EIA coding is consistent for the era. The numbers on the pots and the reverb tank might reveal additional data.

Another visual clue might be the amp's faceplate -- AFAIK, 1969 was the last year that the amp name read "DELUXE REVERB AMP". Subsequent years identified the amp as merely a "DELUXE REVERB".

Have you removed the chassis and examined the interior for a build date?

Seems like the amp is "all there".

It's in average cosmetic shape for its age but will benefit from some normal clean-up procedures.

I haven't removed anything. When I saw it in my neighbors garage sale I knew I couldn't let it get away, but things are different now and I have bills to pay. As much as I HATE to, I have to sell it so I figured I should have a better idea of the date before doing so. I've always called it a 69 but recent research gave me pause since there is no drip edge. Thank you guys for your replies. It appears all original, 2 prong cord, footswitch, maybe even some of the tubes (I can see one says Magnavox, another Sovtek). Reverb tank is working, rev/vib footwitch working. Depending on where I plug it in, it has a slight hum, and switching the "ground" switch changes it to a slightly different hum. :)

Depending upon the specific amp, the drip-edge era began in the spring of 1967, ran through the entire 1968 model year, and extended part way into 1969. A handful of 1970 amps still had the trim, until all stocks of it were finally expended.
