Seems like a well-executed concept.

But the last hype I'd ever try to apply to a guitar amp is "chick magnet".

I'd certainly give it a look-see if he were in my local area. The design reminds me of the first Mesa-Boogies I saw back in the late '70s (without the cascaded gain stages of course).

Any idea what he's charging for those amps?

I've wondered what he's been doing,I've talked to him ordering tubes before.
I've looked for his website and couldn't find it anymore,I used to get his tube list and it was like a reference manual on tubes...the guy knows his stuff.

The listing has no asking price. Understandable as I suspect no two builds are the same.

From the description it sounds like the soul knob is a 'presence' control. I'd rather have the vibrato from a Princeton. I'm sure Fat Willie would build anything I'm willing to pay for.

I like the 12" speaker baffle. I'm not familiar with the Weber DT-12 so can't make an opinion there.

I've heard good things about switchcraft parts. I wonder what the quiescent noise on this amp is like.

I also wonder how he switches from 6V6 to 6L6? I assume the PT is spec'd for 6L6 so no mystery there. What I'm not clear on is how he handles output impedence change?

Looked at some data sheets. The primary load capabilities of 6V6 and 6L6 are close enough so output impedance isn't an issue. So any amp that can handle a 6L6 should be OK with a 6V6.

"chick magnet".

Does this compensate for poor playing skills? Maybe there's an MP3 player inside that amp with some pre-recorded SRV riffs. Then all you have to do is "air-guitar" your $5K Les Paul.

As for OPT impedance, a good PT will handle the impedance shift from 6V6GT to 6L6GC. Dual push-pull diffo from a true 6V6GT to a true 6L6GC is like 8K to 6K at 400VDC plate voltages. Amp prolly has a PT wound for a 6L6GC, to be safe. That would cause a bit of drop of potental output wattage from a 6V6GT.

These amps rarely have a really sweet 6V6GT tone of a good dedicated 6V6GT amp. Because the gauge of wires used in the PT has to be thicker, for the extra current of a 5881 or 6L6GC. You lose a bit of that great saturated OD, of a classic Champ or Princeton. IMHO.

The mp3 player spits out Claptons "Wonderful Tonight". Works every time.
