I bet that thing screamed with Humbuckers.

You have to wonder how many MM's survived. They seem to have been candidates for modifications. When I was growing up and clear into college, I never saw another melody maker. All the kids I knew owned Mustangs and Broncos and they all had Fender amps.

Very sweet looking, love the finish!

Thanks..... you know what is funny, the finish on those have a distinctive smell that you can sense when you are first around them - particularly if they had been cased for a while. When I pull this one out of the box it had that smell. It was like being transported back to 1972 and pulling my original out of its cardboard case..

Slight OT? WTF?

A post about a guitar on the vintage amps forum....yeah, a bit more than slight, it's completely OT.

The guitar is ugly to boot. And double-posting really helps.

That was a crappy thing to say about his guitar coming from one especially who has never to my recollection ever even posted a pic of a vintage Fender amp, because you don't own one do ya??!!
Go buy a f'in vintage Fender amp,dumbass!

Mine had the "alligator" case as well. Somewhere in my parts stash is the little brass plaque with the embossed "Gibson" that fell off of the lid to the inner compartment. Wish I still had the guitar too......

Funny you mention that smell... this 79 Strat was my first electric guitar that I got around '85, it still has that smell. Whenever I take her out of the case it takes me way back to when I was first learning how to play...

Well the grass is vintage (from 1987).

Does that count?

My gosh! It must be really tall by now, better get started. I have heard of procrastinating, but that's a long time to let the grass go.
