I'm trying to find a cab to match my 63 Bassman head I just bought, but I'd prefer to buy new speakers. I'm a huge Beatles nut & would like to get a pair of 12" Utah speakers. I'd prefer a new pair if they're made. Anybody know if modern repros of the Utahs found in early 60's are being made? If so, who makes them? Thanks for any help.

Utah was purchased by Pyle Industries in the mid '70s. AFAIK, they discontinued everything that Utah made and used their manufacturing facilities and assembly staff to build the Pyle Driver line exclusively.

In any event, Utah's would not be the period-correct speaker for a '63 6G6 Bassman. The OEM equipment for that amp would be the Oxford 12T6. You can often find these speakers on Ebay.

Thanks for the reply. Utahs are in the 63' Bassman the Beatles owned. Probably a transition amp, but they're in there nonetheless. The blonde '63 was the most recorded amp out of all the amps the Beatles owned. Hopefully I can find a similar model or snag a minty vintage pair.

Utahs are good. I have several.
But my available are only 1960s eight inchers. Sorry.
I will be putting quite a few vintage speakers on the market, soon.
I will keep you in mind.

I suggest you seek Jensen C2N speakers or clones of those.
The not too hard to get, but worth the money. Toppscore 8)
