What can do you do with a Silverface Twin Reverb Chassis (100w/4ohm)
and no combo amp cabinet or amp head cabinet to install it in?

What options do you have? Where will the best fit be?

If you have the standard Silverface Twin Reverb chasis, you can mix the
chassis with the following five cabinets with no modifications. They fit perfectly:
a) twin reverb chassis and no speakers? = Showman Reverb
b) twin reverb chassis and a 1x15 cabinet? = VibroSonic Reverb
c) twin reverb chassis and a 2x12 cabinet? = Twin Reverb
d) twin reverb chassis and a 4x12 cabinet? = Quad Reverb
e) twin reverb chassis and a 6x10 cabinet? = Super Six Reverb

Now, isn't that real cool??? Cool for me.

Speaker loads from the Twin Reverb Chassis's output
transformer will be able to handle 4ohm-8ohm loads.
Twin Reverb 2x12: 4 ohms
Dual Showman Reverb: 4 ohms
Quad Reverb 4x12: 4 ohms
Super Six Reverb 6x10: 5.3 ohms
Vibrosonic Reverb 1x15: 8 ohms

Therefore, any Vibrosonic Reverb, Dual Showman Reverb,
Twin Reverb, Quad Reverb and Super Six Reverb chassis will
be able to fit with each other and no adjustments necessary.

The classis Twin Reverb chassis can fit into five different Fender cabinets,
and the physical size of each cabinet will exactly match the chassis's size.
No need to change any tubes or output transformer. All will take the same.

The Twin Reverb OT is designed for loads from 4 to 8 ohms. Any of the
above speaker configurations can and have been safely used with the OT.

Silverface Dual Showman Reverb is the exact same circuit as the silverface Twin Reverb. Only difference is speaker configuration (2x15 separate cab). When the master volume was added in 1972, Fender introduced the 1x15 Vibrosonic Reverb, the 4x12 Quad Reverb, and the 6x10 Super Six Reverb. All were exact same circuit as Twin Reverb. The Dual Showman Reverb is the head version of the Twin Reverb.

This would be a fun family reunion to attend!!!

I had a question about a silverface Twin Chassis. Will that chassis fit in a Pro Reverb cab and will a Pro Reverb fit in Twin Cab??? The cab dimensions according to Ampware show that the silverface Pro and Twin are almost identical with the exception of the Pro cab being
1/2 inch shorter in height. Can anyone help me with this.

Thanks,

Rick

According to Fender's 1970 catalog, no.

They show the height and width dimensions for the Twin Reverb as 20.5" x 26.5" while the Pro Reverb measures 19.5" x 26.25".

Note that these amps are pre-master volume models -- the later editions may be different (especially so if the Pro Reverb is an ultra-linear 70-watt platform with the front-panel controls configured like a Twin Reverb).

Hi, Rick.
Yes. I believe there is another group of Fender Amps with chassis'
that'll interchange with the Pros. I will have to think about it.

But, definitely Fender Pros & Fender Twins are "Fender Brothers from different Mothers"
