I am new to the forum and new to tube amps . I have a twin reverb silver face with turquise threads in the grill I think 1970 something still out on the date . I know it needs recaping . Some of the filter caps are leaking electrolyte in to the covers of the caps.
I like being a do it my selfer . I 've done alot of research on doing the recap. Some sites say you need to gradually recharge the caps with a veriac after you replace them.
Is this necessary or can I just turn the amp on and let it do it's thing.
Am I risking a cap blow out if I just turn it on ?
Appreciate any help you give.
Thanks

That is total garbage. Just turn it on. Be sure to drain the old caps. There is lethal voltage in there.

Thanks for the input. I got the new caps in and turned it on and played it a while. Sounds good.
I still need to have the bias done though.
Thanks again.
