So I have this old amp given to me by my grandpa. It sounds pretty good for being almost all original andue to the amount of use its seen in his band days. However the reverb is shot, makes a horrible squeal when turned up even if the volume is off. It needs a new reverb tank but im pretty sure its more than that. Back to the point. Ive never seen one like this so i dunno how to judge the age. Unlke most dr's I've seen it only says "Deluxe reverb" on the front unlike the usual "deluxe reverb amp" i will try n post pics if i can figure out how. Lol

We'll need a pic or two in order to render an opinion.

In my 45 years of association with Fender gear I've owned about a half a dozen or so of these amps and currently have three in the herd.

The only ones to ever read "Deluxe Reverb" (rather than "Deluxe Reverb Amp") on the front panel were the silverfaces built after 1969 and the blackface "II" version that appeared in 1982 and read "Deluxe Reverb II".

To ascertain your amp's vintage, some disassembly may be necessary.

You might give Green Eagle Amps over in Denton a holler. T.J. does outstanding work.
