Connecting the speaker leads from a Twin reverb amp 4 ohm out. In parallel the positive on the JBL {not reconed, origional} Are the black posts the positive?

I arbitrarily choose RED terminal as positive. Remember, signal is AC. So there is no absolute positive ro negative side (like the DC current). Just keep the polarity consistent with respects to the amp tendency top PUSH out upon first impulse.

A "pop" test with a probe on a gain stage grid. Or a live lead into the input, should cause the spakers to initially move outward. Then, you'll know you are pretty much in-phase with the amp and between speakers.

Ric, Beemer is right, it's AC. The usual method would be that the tip, on the speaker cable would be connected to the red terminal on the speakers. And black to the sleeve. Speaker polarity,IMHO has to do with all speakers pushing out at the same time. As long as they are working together, all is well ! The reversal of the color code, like Beemer suggests isn't the important factor. It's the coordination between the speakers. Art
