Thinking of buying some Weber 12F150 speakers to replace the stock CTS 12" speakers in my 70w Pro Reverb. Webers speaker guide suggests the High Power series Cali or Chicago ceramics for my amp. Anyone have any input on the 12F150's or the high power series? I want the amp to sound clean but would like some breakup if pushed. I can get some breakup out of the stock speakers by turning the master volume all the way up and using the volume on the seperate inputs for volume control. I primarily play at home and don't have the volume real loud. Just looking for some input. Weber emailed me and suggested the high power chicago ceramic. I don;t want the amp to sound alot darker though.

I have Weber speakers in most all of my amps,I love the way they sound.
I probably have more 12F150s than any other,that's what I have in my '66 Pro Reverb,it's only rated at 40 watts,they are a sweet sounding speaker,the highs are clean and they will get warm and breakup smoothly,it does take some volume though by pushing just the amp...I rarely use any pedals,if I do I'll use a TS-808 Tube Screamer,but not much...I have a hard time describing sound,but I wouldn't call them a dark sounding speaker,and with your 70 watt Pro you should be able to drive them well.
I would hate for you to make your decision on my input alone,but I have to say that every Weber speaker I have,probably 12 or 13 of them,are great sounding speakers,and I've never blown one,yet...I tend to get them un-doped.

I put a Weber Vintage, slightly doped 12F150 into that Ampeg Jet. And man, did it transform that amp into the classic small Ampeg combo, studio quality tone. I know it's not a Fender. But, dang for over 15 years I've never been disappointed by any of Ted's or his son's speakers.

Got a question for the Weber experts...

I got 3 speakers that came in my Victoria amp, each has a sticker that says something different, Weber VST P10R/P10Q/P10QR. What exactly do I have here? Nothing on their site shows they're using Jensen P10 whatever... I do see the 10A100 or 10A125 models, is that what they are? Do they always label them that way on the speakers or are these older Webers?

Looking at the pics on their site it looks like I have:

P10R = 10A100
P10QR = 10A125-O?
P10Q = 10A125

Thanks!

Weber has changed the stickers and the labeling of the speakers over the years,they're probably older speakers,I'll look at one of the older ones I have later because I think they're labeled C12N or something like that....I'll post a pic.
